Chemo #8 Date Change

The date of my last chemo has been moved up. My doctor has to go out of town so instead of Thursday, June 12th, chemo #8 will be on Monday, June 9th. I can't wait to be done. I am sick of the side effects. Chemo #7 had basically the same side effects as #5 & #6. My mouth turned white and covered with the thick mucus then it started to hurt. I ended up with an open sore in the back of my mouth at the top. The mouth wash medicine wasn't really helping it. My pharmacist recommended KANKA the medicine you put on canker sores. It is finally starting to heal. Now it is heading into my throat. It hurts. It burns each time I swallow. Surprisingly the burn you feel when you drink soda pop actually soothes my throat right now.

I am actually looking forward to my last chemo because I will be DONE. I am not looking forward to surgery but I am starting to get to the point where I just wish we could do it and get that over with too.

My hair is starting to grow back. So far it is mostly peach fuzz with a few longer strands mixed in. Each morning it looks like there is just a little bit more.

On Monday I was buying cold medicine for Shawn when the clerk asked me if I was over 18 and could she please see my ID. She was serious. It has been so long since anyone actually asked me for ID that I laughed and told her that I was almost 40. She was so embarrassed that she didn't even check my ID. Then she said "I guess that means that he (Shawn was standing behind me) isn't your husband. I told her no and that he was only 16. This kind of thing seems to be happening more often. People have a hard time determining age when you don't have any hair.
