I am finally starting to feel a little better. The nausea has been gone for a few days. I am trying to deal with a new side effect. It is hard to describe. I have the feeling that chemicals are coming out of my pores like a vapor or a gas. My head is hot almost all the time. If I cover it, it feels like the vapors are being trapped inside me. Because of this I am not wearing anything on my head when I am at home. It is a lot more comfortable that way. I usually feel my best in the morning which is strange because I am NOT a morning person. As the day progresses it feels like the vapors are building up inside of me. It doesn't make me nauseated but by afternoon and then again in the evening I eventually end up throwing up. For a short time after, I feel like the vapors have escaped and I feel better. The nurse at my doctor's office said that she has never heard anyone describe it like I do but that it is probably just my digestive system being upset by the chemo. (Great, like I need anymore problems with my digestive system. I have had heartburn and stomach problems since Tyler was born and he is 11 years old.) There isn't anything they can do to relieve this symptom, I just need to make sure I am not getting dehydrated. Normally I love to drink water but it tastes very stale right now. It doesn't matter where the water came from. Tap water, bottle water, drinking fountain water, etc all tastes bad. That means my taste buds are already being effected. If I add some lemons to the water then it tastes a lot better. If I do feel like I am dehydrated they can give me an IV which seems to help some people feel better. I hate needles so I am not going to let my self get to that point.
Once again we have had a lot of help with meals. They have been wonderful and very appreciated. This week has been even busier than normal for David at work. He has either been at work or on the phone with work well into the evening. They are in the middle of some major changes as they bring their new warehouse in California online. This has required a lot of extra time for many different people. Since they are in California they are an hour behind us. They also do most of the loading of freight on their trucks in the evenings for delivery to local stores the next day. That means that the problems with the system end up showing up in the evenings so that is when they have to work on them. As I have already mentioned, that is also when I am the sickest. Not having to worry about making dinner for a few days has relieved a lot of pressure off of both of us. Thank you again to everyone.
My parents should be coming home from the MTC today. We are all going to their house tomorrow to help them finish getting ready to leave for Washington. Their farewell is Sunday. I am hoping to be feeling well enough to go and to see a few people at their house afterwards.
