Dr. Rosenthal

We went to my appointment with Dr. Rosenthal this morning. I really liked her. I am definitely going to have her do my surgery. She recommended that due to the large size we do chemo first to shrink the tumor so that they can make sure that they get it all and have clear margins. She also wants to make sure that the tumor shrinks with the chemo. If it doesn't we can try a different type of chemo. We wouldn't know how it responds if we take it out first.

I went back to Dr. Gray's office today for a blood test called a BRACAnalysis. It is a genetic test for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer.

Tomorrow is the ultrasound/biopsy of the lymph nodes and right breast.

Monday I am having a CT, echo cardiogram, and bone scan. After that we can figure out when I need to start chemo. It should last about 4 months. If everything goes well my surgery should be about 3 weeks after the chemo ends.

I did get a nice surprise today. I received a huge vase of flowers from Dave's work. That was very thoughtful of them. Overall today was a pretty good day.
