Yesterdays chemo went well. Kristi and I had to wait a little between our doctor's appointment until they had room for me in the chemo room but that wasn't a problem. She brought some card games to destract me. We only played on round before we had to stop. Glenda gave me the decadron (steroid), aloxi (anti-nausea), benadryl, zantac, and then the taxotere. Once the benadryl was in the room started to spin and I had to close my eyes for the rest of the treatment. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get up and walk out of there on my own. I did and felt ok. We stopped for lunch and then went home. When we got home I went to bed to sleep it off.
After dinner I felt like I needed to get up and walk around so Kristi and I went to Costco to get some vitamins for my kids to help them stay healthy. I hope it helps. Tyler is still coughing and Shawn is still missing school due to the stomach pain.
Dr Gray helped me map out a schedule of how things should go for the rest of my treatments.
#6 May 1st
#7 May 22nd
#8 June 12th
Another MRI two weeks later
Surgery the first week of July would be his preference
Start radiation the first week of August Monday thru Friday for 5-6 weeks.
March for plastic surgery if necessary.
It is hard to believe that a year from now I will still be going through medical treatments for this. I don't know how I could make it that long without all of the help and support of family and friends. I can't thank everyone enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
